Notifications in the TMS

When important tasks come up in the TMS, all necessary parties should be informed.

Notifications are meant to inform users about important tasks in the TMS. There are two ways to receive a notification in TMS:

  1. In Product Notifications
  2. Email Notifications

Today, specific users will be notified by the TMS when events occur, such as:

  • A user submits a new request using Request Management
  • An evaluator with final decision making capabilities has made a decision on a request
  • A request you submitted has been given a decision
  • Comments have been made by a requestor to evaluators

In Product Notifications

In the header of the TMS, you will see a bell icon where you will find notifications. If there are unread notifications for you to read, it will be indicated by a red circle with the number of unread messages.

All notifications you have not yet read will be marked with a green dot on the right side of the container.

Notifications will remain "unread" until you click on the notification and are taken to the given instance. When a notification has been read, the message will become a grey container.

Notifications can be deleted at any time using the trash can icon next to the given message.

if you wish you delete multiple messages at the same time, use the boxes on the left-hand side to select multiple messages. A red Delete button will appear in the top right-hand corner.

Clicking the delete button will immediately remove those notifications from your view.

All notifications, read or unread, can be deleted at any time.

All notifications you see in the TMS have an email companion. For each notification you receive in the TMS, you will receive a similar email to the email associated with your account.

Email Notifications

All notifications relevant to your user will be sent to the email address associated with your TMS account. Please note that if you are an SSO client, the email address associated with your SSO account will be the registered email.

Most emails from the TMS contain:

  • Information important to your user based on your permissions
  • A button to quickly log in and access the TMS
  • Access to help documentation

Below is an example of an email a user may receive from the system:

As long as you remain a subscribed user, you will continue to receive both in product notifications and emails.

Unsubscribing from Notifications

Some users may not wish to have emails sent to them from the TMS. All users have the ability to unsubscribe from email correspondence.

At the bottom of each email sent to users, the following message should appear:

Click the blue text that says "removed from the list".

You will see a success screen, as shown above. There will be a link provided in this screen should you choose to resubscribe to communications.
