SSO-Synced User Management
If your users will log into the TMS using your SSO provider, utilize this tutorial to add and manage users in the TMS.
Initial Onboarding of TMS Admins
During the onboarding process for new customers, you will be asked to sync in an SSO group that contains the key TMS administrators.
You can:
-
use an existing SSO group (e.g. Tech Dept.) that has the TMS admins in it or
- create a group in your SSO called something like "Veracity Admins" and place the appropriate users in it.
Once this group name is communicated to your Customer Success Manager, they will sync in this group to provide the TMS admins access to the TMS.
Initial Onboarding of End Users (Teachers)
During the onboarding process, your Customer Success Manager will explain the SSO user group syncing mechanism and mapping tool to you. These features will be used to sync in your end user groups so that district-level staff and classroom staff can log into the TMS.
Wondering what groups to sync in? The simplest way to get all staff in the TMS is to sync an "All Staff" or "All Employees" group into the TMS. However, that can often pull in support staff like substitutes, school nurses, and others who may not use the TMS. As a result, you may choose to instead sync in a combination of more specific groups of instructional staff like "All Teachers," "All Admins," "Instructional Specialists," etc.

SSO User Limitations & Behaviors
The following limitations exist within the TMS, and some of these limitations result in users being automatically synced out of the TMS so that they are unable to log in.
-
Users whose accounts are suspended in your SSO will be removed as long as they are suspended. If they are made active again, they will sync into the TMS.
- If a user is made inactive in the TMS but is still in your SSO system, they will not be able to log into the TMS.
- If you change a user's email address in your SSO provider, it will update in the Veracity TMS. If you only add an alias within your SSO provider, it will not update in the Veracity TMS.
